Dental implants

Dental implants are one of the most advanced methods of replacing a lost tooth in both the upper and lower jaw, restoring one, several or all of the lost teeth. A dental implant replaces the root of a lost tooth by threading a metal artificial “root” – an implant – into the jaw. The implant is usually made of titanium, as this metal is considered to be the least allergenic to the human body. Once the root has been replaced, the prosthetics phase follows, which is planned before treatment begins, i.e. at the treatment planning stage, when the prosthetic treatment is decided according to the patient’s expectations and possibilities.

When choosing a dental implant to replace lost teeth, there is often a problem with the augmentation of the lost bone: after pathological processes in the surrounding tissue have occurred, the bone is “bruised”, which hinders the quality of the implantation of the artificial “root” of the implant. Your doctor will assess whether bone augmentation (bone and gum restoration) is needed before the treatment process.

Dental implants are only placed after a thorough examination of the patient’s physical condition, both dental and oral, as well as the overall physical condition. A detailed treatment plan is drawn up individually for each patient.
